Placement of the Mosquito Terminator
Correct Placement
Place the Trap at ground level. Mosquitoes live in low-lying foliage.
Finding the best spot in your yard or campsite can take a little investigating. Look for an area that is shaded, near dense foliage (not blocked) and protected from continuous direct sunlight and wind gusts. You may find more than one area that meets these criteria. Experiment with alternative placement to maximize mosquito capture.
Place the trap away from where people gather. We recommend placing the unit approximately 50 feet away from decks and patios.
Always check the unit after gusty winds to be sure that the unit is operating correctly.
Although some mosquitoes migrate or are carried by the wind, mosquitoes typically stay very close to where they are hatched.
For optimum results, use the Trap 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the beginning to the end of the mosquito season. The Trap works over time to capture mosquitoes in your yard or camping area when they are most active, whether you are there or not.
Even after you have noticed a reduction of mosquitoes in your yard/ campsite, continue to operate the Trap. Continuous use of the Trap will attract newly hatched mosquitoes that are common following heavy rain, mosquitoes carried by the wind and migrating mosquitoes.
Non-Correct Placement
Do not put the Mosquito Terminator unit in direct sunlight, for two reasons. #1 Mosquitoes do not like sunlight and therefore
there will not be many mosquitoes to be attracted by your MT unit. #2 The Mosquito Terminator unit will last much longer if it is not subjected to direct UV rays produced by the sun The Mosquito Terminator should not be run during windy conditions. This is not effective usage of the Co2. because the Co2 becomes so dispersed and it has negative or no effects as an attractant. Do not subject
the Mosquito Terminator to extreme
weather conditions.
