• Near (but not In) bushes or shrubbery.
• Shaded areas as opposed to bright sunny locations.
• Use the unit to draw insects from areas of human activity by placing it at least 30 feet away, but between the source of the insects and the area to be protected.
• Front of the unit (opposite control panel) should face down wind and in the direction of the source of insects.
• Try the Mosquito PowerTrap in several possible locations and select the location that provides the most effective and consistent killing results.

The CO2 plume is most effective when enhanced with an aromatic component such as octenol.

Performance
Your Mosquito PowerTrap works to eliminate mosquitoes and biting flies in areas up to 1 1 /2 acre at any given time but a larger area is covered over time.   It does this by reducing the biting insect population resulting in fewer females to lay eggs.

After six to eight weeks several generations will have been decimated resulting in an interruption in the breeding cycle and a reduced number of trapped insects

Even if there appears to be a complete elimination of biting insects, continue to operate the Mosquito PowerTrap throughout the insect season to ensure that the breeding cycle remains Interrupted.

During winter or seasons when no mosquitoes are active, we recommend that the PowerTrap is stored to prevent frost or storm damage.
